Cancellation Policy

This information applies to all DBA seminars:

Pursuant to Rule X, Rules for the Government, Bar of Ohio, the Dayton Bar Association request approval for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit from the Ohio Supreme Court, Commission on CLE. The Dayton Bar Association is an established sponsor in the State of Ohio and is, therefore granted presumptive approval of its activities.

The Ohio Commission on CLE requests that: (1) attendees check in at the beginning of and before leaving each seminar; (2) the Dayton Bar Association will submit hours attended for each seminar via electronic mail whenever possible. At times, program participants will be required to complete attendance forms, which will be mailed by the Dayton Bar Association to the Commission; (3) sponsor will monitor all attendance and report any inaccuracies to the Commission.

Cancellation / Transfer Policy: The DBA reserves the right to modify or cancel a program if circumstances warrant. If the DBA cancels a program, full tuition will be refunded. Cancellations by program participants received by 4pm the business day prior to the program will be fully refunded. No refunds are given for cancellations received on or after the day of the program. Transfer credit will always be granted if the DBA is notified by 4pm the business day prior to the seminar. If a participant has pre-registered without payment, failure to attend or cancel will result in receipt of an invoice of $25 with payment due in 10 business days. Passport participants who fail to cancel or attend will be charged a $15 materials fee.

Register at Door: Door registrations will be limited to available seating space; however, please call the DBA office in advance to confirm date, location, space availability, etc. If a participant registers the day of a seminar, there is a $15 day of registration cost.

IRS Federal Requirement: Payment for conferences / seminars may be deducted for federal income tax purposes for ordinary and necessary business expenses, but not as a charitable contribution.

NOTE: If you have any special needs and / or needs addressed by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), please inform the CLE Director, Jennifer Otchy, at the DBA (937.222.7902) to allow time to provide the necessary reasonable accommodations.
