The DBA’s Public Service / Congeniality Committee is partnering with Clothes That Work, a local non-profit organization providing business attire to their clients, to help outfit a group of local foster youth for their visit to Washington D.C. for the National Independent Living Conference in September, when they meet with members of congress and the First Lady.

The Public Service / Congeniality Committee of the Dayton Bar Association has chosen to take on the project of serving needy children in the Dayton metropolitan area. Realizing that there are a variety of ways we can serve those in need, we decided to serve children in a concrete way that can meet immediate needs that might otherwise go unfulfilled. To this end, we are collecting school related items for children. The items needed are listed below:

• #2 Pencils, standard size and extra large ones for kindergarten & 1st grade
• Colored pencils
• 3-ring filler paper, wide line
• Plastic art boxes for school supplies
• Rounded tip scissors
• 16 pack crayons
• Washable markers
• 12” rulers
• Small reward items that teachers can distribute to students as incentives such as stickers, small erasers or small toys like those found in Oriental Trading Company
• Index cards
• Colored pocket folders
• Single subject spiral folders
• Book bags
• Facial tissues
• Hand sanitizer
• Clorox disinfecting wipes
