The Personnel Placement Service is a service of the DBA designed to meet the support staff needs of DBA members. Whether you’re looking for full-time, part-time, temporary or permanent staff, the Personnel Placement Service can meet your needs with a substantial savings in time, effort and fees.
All potential employees are screened and tested by a non-commissioned personnel consultant. Please note, this service does not place attorneys.
The PPS can staff your office with full-time, part-time or temporary personnel in the following positions:
- Legal secretaries
- Legal assistants
- Paralegals
- Word processors
- Office assistants
- File clerks
- Runners
- Legal administrators / office managers
- Bookkeepers
How Does the PPS Work?
Full-Time Permanent Positions:
A fee (currently $800) will be charged to the employer for each person placed in a permanent position.
Part-Time Permanent Positions:
A fee (currently $400) will be charged to the employer for each person placed in a permanent, part-time position (25 hours or less per week).
Temporary Positions:
We provide service to meet your needs during vacations, maternity leave, work overload, sick leave and leave of absence.
Our temporary employees are paid a minimum of $14.00 per hour by the employer. A fee of $12.00 per day will be charged to the employer by the DBA.
Temporary employees are not employed by the DBA nor are they paid by the DBA. The PPS acts as a referral service, matching qualified individuals to member offices. Each member office is expected to pay the temporary employee directly, consider the temp an employee and adhere to all appropriate laws and regulations as with any other employee.
Select the Most Talented Candidates Through the PPS
The DBA’s Personnel Placement Service utilizes a testing program called Prove It!®, created by Kenexa, that offers over 140 test titles the results of which give you the power to identify and select the most talented candidates and employees. If you’ve ever received a résumé from our office, you undoubtedly noticed that the cover sheet features test scores for basic office skills, spelling, Microsoft Word and typing speeds. We do this to make it easier for you to see each résumé in the same light. You can tell from a quick glance what each applicant has to offer.
What if you’d like to know what an applicant’s skill level is in the areas of legal vocabulary, bookkeeping or maybe even Spanish to English translation? With a simple call to the PPS you can request additional testing of any applicant, and in the areas of your choice. The cost for additional testing is well worth the investment:

In a situation where the employee terminates for any reason, the guarantee is as follows:
Within 2 weeks: Full refund
Within 30 days: 75% refund
Within 60 days: 50% refund
