Dayton Bar Association Foundation

The Dayton Bar Association Foundation was created as a non-profit, 501(c)(3) charitable organization on July 16, 1984. Through the Foundation, the more than 1,500 DBA members support a wide variety of good works and charitable activities on behalf of the greater Dayton legal community.

Purpose

  • To serve as the philanthropic organization for the Greater Dayton Legal Community

Mission

  • To improve our community by promoting justice and respect for the law

In support of the Foundation's mission, the Board of Trustee's looks for opportunities to promote the legal profession, to increase access to justice and do good works in our community in the name of the Dayton Bar Association. This is accomplished through the award of grants to worthy organizations and projects.

The Grant Process

The Board of Trustees meets on a quarterly basis in the months of September, December, March and June to discuss matters of importance, including requests for Foundation Grants. Requests for grant consideration should outline the purpose, amount requested and specific timeframe of the project and should be directed to the attention of:

William B. Wheeler
Executive Director
Dayton Bar Association Foundation
109 N. Main St., Ste. 600
Dayton, OH 45402-1129

Donations and Gifts

Support of the Foundation gives friends and members of the legal community a chance to demonstrate the compassion, commitment and appreciation for the community in which he or she serves.

Annually, the Foundation receives gifts from members, memorial contributions and bequests from individual planned giving. These gifts enable the Foundation to continually expand its outreach to the many worthwhile projects and organizations in need of financial assistance within our community at large.
