Starting in September, the Dayton Bar Association will renew an old tradition by hosting monthly Chancery Club luncheons at the Old Courthouse in the Rotunda Room at no charge to DBA members. This is made possible by a grant from the Eichelberger Foundation. The monthly Chancery Club luncheons will combine a dash of no-cost nourishment with a handful of classy collegiality and a pinch of professional programming.
Since May, a committee of DBA members, led by Jim Brogan, Charlie Shook and DBA President Mary Donovan, has been working to set up the luncheons. The first three Chancery Club luncheons are set for:
- September 17th
- October 15th
- November 19th, all at the Old Courthouse.
Typically, there will be hospitality time from 11:30am until Noon, followed by a free, catered box lunch and ending with a brief program. At the September luncheon, there will be docents from Dayton History to give tours of the Old Courthouse before lunch begins.
The luncheons are open to all DBA members on a first come, first serve basis. Reservations for each luncheon must be arranged by contacting Chris Albrektson at the DBA. (see registration in the Summer issue of Bar Briefs). The Rotunda Room accommodates approximately 100 people for lunch. Members who do not get tickets for one month’s luncheon will be placed at the top of the list for the next luncheon. Hope to see you at the Chancery Club.
